The Church of the Holy Sepulchre:Church housing the site of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.
This majestic church, built during the Crusader era, stands atop the ruins of the Byzantine church erected by Emperor Constantine the Great in the 4th century. Within its walls are Golgotha, the Edicule, where Jesus was buried and, according to Christian belief, resurrected, and the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. The church was destroyed during the Muslim invasion in the 7th century and again in 1009 by El-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, caliph of the Fatimid dynasty, considered the founder of the Druze community.
